«Large privatization of prisons»: Regional Office of the SPFU in Lviv region establishes cooperation with potential investors
Today, Deputy Minister of Justice Olena Vysotska, Deputy Director of the Communications and Marketing Department of the SPFU Mykola Hanych and Head of the Regional Office Vladyslav Kalynets met with business representatives in the field of development, construction and retail to attract investment through privatization.
During meeting participants discussed the privatization of the assets of the penitentiary service and other diverse infrastructure facilities as part of a joint project of the State Property Fund of Ukraine and the Ministry of Justice «Large Privatization of Prisons».
The «Large Privatization of Prisons»is a project that aims to turn “canned” penitentiary assets, which are non-profitable to the state, into facilities with high investment potential. One of the first objects of this project is the privatization of Lviv Penal Colony No. 48: (bit.ly/3blnOtw та bit.ly/3w0vlGh).
«Conducting of privatization is the only way out for ensure of operating such facilities. As a result the state will receive budget revenues and economic recovery, new owner - investment attractive asset, and the Ministry of Justice - funds for the construction of new quality facilities. Local communities will receive the development of territories and new jobs.» said Vladyslav Kalynets.
Mykola Hanych, a representative of the SPFU's central office, emphasized that the State Property Fund of Ukraine had introduced transparent rules in the privatization process, based on full disclosure of information about privatization objects and equal access for all participants.
«The main goal of privatization is to transform unproductive assets into productive ones by attracting sustainable investments» Mykola Hanich said.
