Lviv Penal Colony No. 48 is at a transparent privatization auction

“As part of the “Large Prison Privatization”, in cooperation with the State Property Fund and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, an auction for privatization the Lviv Colony No. 48 is planned on June 3, 2021”, - said Deputy Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Taras Eleiko during his visit to Lviv.

The colony is formed of two parts, which are located on a land plot of 13.5 hectares. The total area of  ​​buildings and structures on the territory of the institution is 40, 000 sq. m, and the maintenance of such non-functioning facilities for the state is losses and expenses in the millions of hryvnias.

The starting price of the privatization object will be UAH 136 million. In total, it is planned to put up for auction the property of 35 penal colonies that are in a "preserved" state, as their maintenance is unprofitable for the state.
