Restart of the Ukrainian alcohol industry: a successful story of the "BorokSpyrt" enterprise
After a long period of stagnation in the Ukrainian alcohol industry, an active period of significant transformations and positive changes in dynamics is noted. Privatization of enterprises opens up opportunities for attracting investments and implementing modern technologies.
One such example is thestate enterprise "BorokSpyrt" in Lviv region. The enterprise emerged on the basis of the Borok distillery andalcoholstorage of the state enterprise "UKRSPYRT".The object was boughtviathe electronic trading system "Prozorro.Sales" in 2020 by LLC "Company Climate Plus", which constructed a modern and fully automated plant.
Over the past two years, the enterprise has invested over UAH 230 million in technology modernization, significantly expanding product range. Even under difficult conditions, due to the full-scale invasion of russian forces, the "BorokSpyrt" enterprise managed to start operations in March 2022. Today, the company produces high-quality rectified alcohol and deep-processed alcohol dry grains.
To increase the efficiency of raw material utilization, the enterprise focuses on producing secondary processing products. The production of dry distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) has been started at the plant, representing modern feed additives for animal husbandry.
"The right steps of alcohol industry deregulation policy are already bearing fruit, bringing income to the state and increasing our internal reserves, which are so necessary for the country in wartime," says Vitaliy Koval, Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
A private investor ensured the creation of a modern and competitive production, new jobs, and increased tax payments to the rural community. The "BorokSpyrt" company is noted for timely payment of salaries to 80 employees and contributes to the inflow of funds to support the economy of Ukraine.
