New life for state property: the story of one room`s lease
Efficient use of state property is not just about the numbers in the budget.
It's about new services for people, support for small businesses and spaces that start working for the community.
A striking example of this approach is the story of renting a small room in the city of Polonne in Khmelnytskyi region.
The room of 15.7 m2 (office No. 6), located on the second floor of the administrative building, was not used for a long time. The space needed to be updated and was actually not beneficial to either the community or the state.
In order to attract entrepreneurs and effectively use state property, the object was put up for auction. As a result of the auction, the tenant was Mrs. Inna, an entrepreneur who operates in the field of hairdressing and beauty salon services.

From a neglected state to a modern space
After the contract was signed, the tenant invested her own funds in the repair of the premises: she replaced the outdated wooden windows with energy-efficient plastic ones, updated the floor and wall coverings. And as a result, we see that a modern, neat and comfortable interior has been created.
This has given a new functional purpose to the state institution's room, which was in a dilapidated state, and made it accessible and useful for the community's residents.
Benefits for all parties
This case clearly shows that renting state property is a win-win solution for everyone:
the entrepreneur has the opportunity to do business in a convenient location;
community – new quality services near home;
State – stable budget revenues and well-maintained property without additional costs.

Renting even small spaces can help to revitalize public spaces and bring in small businesses. These are the kinds of stories that can help to bring about positive change for communities.
