The State Property Fund of Ukraine joins the discussion of the issues of preserving Ukraine`s cultural heritage
Deputy Head of the Foundation Nataliya Panova took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Countering the Illicit Circulation of Cultural Values: The Role of Forensic Experts and Valuers", which took place at the National Museum of Arts named after Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko.
Nataliya Panova addressed the participants of the conference with a welcoming speech, outlining the key challenges that have arisen for the professional community in the conditions of war. She emphasized that the State Property Fund, as an authority regulating valuation activities, sees this direction as a strategic task, as the issue of valuation of cultural values is extremely acute today.
It noted that in the conditions of war, the lack of a clearly defined value of such objects makes them attractive for illegal manipulation and makes it impossible to further compensate for the damage. That is why the SFFF is initiating the improvement of the legal regulation of the valuation of cultural values.
In conclusion, she summarized that the team of the Foundation together with the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications and the Ministry of Justice is ready to work on creating such a model of interaction, where professional confirmation of authenticity from art historians and methodological accuracy of assessors will be united by the goal of determining the value will become a reliable mechanism for protecting cultural values.
