“UMCC” reported on production results for the first half of 2020
The companies that are part of JSC “United Mining and Chemical Company” during the first half of 2020 increased the production of marketable products by several positions.
For six months of this year, the “Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant” produced 92.4 thousand tons of ilmenite concentrate, which is 13% more than in the same period of 2019.
At the same time, the “Vilnohirsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine” increased the production of distene-sillimanite concentrate, both coarse and powder. During the first half of 2020, 36% more distene-sillimanite powder and 33% more distene-sillimanite coarse concentrates were produced. The total production volumes for disten-sillimanite concentrates amounted to more than 3.5 thousand tons.
Production of quartz sand also increased at “VMMC” - from 7.4 thousand tons in the first half of 2019 to 32.4 thousand tons in the same period in 2020.
Whereby the production of rutile concentrate at “Vilnohirsk MMC” did not exceed last year's marks.
The reason for the growth of indicators in some positions and keeping at the same level in others, the Management of “UMCC” points to the change in production guidelines. The “United Mining and Chemical Company” is constantly looking for new markets and testing updated technologies for enriching raw materials that were not considered commercially viable for the company previously.
“We have developed a new financial plan and modernization program for “UMCC”, which provides for the optimization of the resource base of companies that are part of the company's structure. A rational approach to production and integrated use of field capacity is no less important for us than to obtain maximum profitable indicators,” said Peter Davis, Acting Head of the Management Board of JSC “UMCC”.
To recall, the “UCC” has developed a program to modernize production for both branches, and this program is going to be presented at road shows for potential investors. The plan envisages preparation for the extraction of more complex ores at the “Irshansk MPP” and the implementation of additional enrichment of titanium-zirconium ores at the “Vilnohirsk MMC”, which have been just stored at the companies so far.
