Dmytro Sennychenko took part in the opening of Kyiv Central Bus Station, which is an asset of the privatized Kyivpasservice
On July 22, 2021, the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmytro Sennychenko took part in the opening of reconstructed Kyiv Central Bus Station, which is an asset of the privatized Kyivpasservice.
The event was attended by Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and Director of Ukrpas Maksym Skliarenko.
The Minister of Infrastructure noted that the creation of a competitive bus station business in Ukraine, offering high-quality services, begins with the renovation of the main bus station of the capital.
“Among the priorities of our company work is the transparent operating of bus stations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, there is a big problem with illegal bus stations and the carriers in our country. Such an illegal bus stations don’t have the necessary services, in particular, a bus station building, waiting rooms, ticket offices, etc. All of these things are passenger safety.
We will fight illegal bus stations and at the same time support the development of legal certified bus stations. We are currently working on amendments to industry legislation. As a result, passengers, government and business should receive uniform clear rules of the game and interaction,” spoke Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
During the presentation, the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine drew attention to the fact that Kyivpas is one of the successful examples of transparent privatization, which is carried out according to equal rules for all.
“Kyivpasservice privatization online auction is a beginning of new large-scale infrastructure project. But thanks to systemic reform, this is already a typical story for privatization, which turns unproductive assets into productive ones. The State Property Fund has already held more than two thousand transparent auctions. Due to this, throughout Ukraine many abandoned assets came to life and found new effective owners. There are hundreds of such stories ahead, so to be continued!”, Dmytro Sennychenko said.
After the privatization of Kyivpasservice in March 2020, which includes 6 bus stations in Kyiv and 18 points in regions, the investor spent about UAH 100 million on the modernization of a central bus station.
According to Maksym Skliarenko, about UAH 20 million was spent on IT-solutions, namely on the solution of an omnichannel ticket service and a bus station, which include processes automation, dispatching, an integrated data base of trips, data exchange with road carriers and other bus stations, and ticket sales.
“In partnerships with Kyivpasservis we transform the Central bus station on the “airport for buses” – modern transport hub, where passengers are convenient and comfortable, there are shops, food courts, and a hotel. We completely changed the business model, ensured transparent terms of cooperation for carriers and have already launched an online service for selling tickets, with the possibility of booking and redemption at bus stations. In the near future we will offer a package of IT solutions for business management for carriers”, spoke Maksym Skliarenko, Direktor of Ukrpas.
