A modern digital service for round-the-clock video communication with sign language interpreters has been installed on the websites of the State Property Fund of Ukraine
The State Property Fund of Ukraine has installed a special web widget that allows people with hearing impairments to get information in sign language. The widget is available on the sites: privatization.gov.ua, orenda.gov.ua and spfu.gov.ua. Improving the accessibility of SPFU sites is in line with the implementation of the National Strategy for Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, and as part of the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
Sign language is native for deaf and hard of hearing people. Most people with hearing impairments find it difficult to perceive textual content. That is why the ability to obtain information in sign language is crucial. A special «Ear» widget, which has already been installed on the websites of some Ministries and is now posted on the SPFU websites (in the lower right corner of the screen), allows to overcome the communication barrier.
If the user with a hearing impairment does not understand the content written on the site or has additional questions or the need to make a phone call, he can use the service of a sign language interpreter online at any convenient time. To call the interpreter, you need to click on the «Ear», fill in the data (name, mail, phone number), enter the captcha, which is broadcast in sign language, and wait for a video connection with the interpreter.
Fund expands opportunities to involve people with disabilities in the economic sphere of life by introducing modern digital services for people with hearing impairments.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine also expresses its gratitude to the NGO «Public Movement «Social Unity» for the introduction of modern digital services for people with hearing impairments, as it is a convenient and effective tool to overcome communication and psychological barriers to communication with people with partial or complete hearing loss.
