How privatization turns unproductive assets into productive ones - Dmytro Sennychenko paid a working visit to Zhytomyr Region
On August 30, 2021, the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmytro Sennychenko together with the People's Deputy Roksolana Pidlasa and his Deputy Kostiantyn Koshelenko paid a working visit to the Zhytomyr region.
The participants of the visit met with the owners of privatized objects, who got a second life due to investments, as well as with the representatives of the business environment of Novohrad-Volynskyidistrict.
According to the Chairman of the State Property Fund Dmytro Sennychenko, real examples of successful privatization testify to the achievement of the main goal of this process - the transformation of unproductive assets into productive ones. The new owners have already invested millions of UAH in private investment in the reconstruction and development of the business. And this is the expansion of the tax base and new jobs.
«The State Property Fund is moving ahead of the plan for revenues from small-scale privatization - successful auctions for over UAH 2 billion have already been held. But the main task is to attract investment through privatization, and we must continue to do everything to increase this pace», said Dmytro Sennychenko.
For her part, the People's Deputy of Ukraine Roksolana Pidlasa focused on the implemented changes in the privatization process, which allowed the State Property Fund to achieve high results.
«The implementation of transparency instruments in privatization has allowed us to exceed the plan in 2020 and maintain a positive trend in this. But these instruments need to be formalize in legislation, which guarantees a comprehensive draft law to promote investment, already supported by the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading», said Roksolana Pidlasa.
«The comprehensive draft law on accelerating privatization, developed by the Fund, provides for the direction of 10% of small-scale privatization for the development of local communities and regions», said Dmytro Sennychenko.
For his part, Deputy Chairman of the State Property Fund Kostiantyn Koshelenko, who is responsible for coordinating the work of regional branches of the Fund, spoke about the state of affairs in the field of privatization in the Zhytomyr region.
According to him, 4 privatization auctions with starting prices in the amount of UAH 6.5 million have also been announced in Zhytomyr region, and 4 more objects are being prepared for auction.
The participants of the visit made a visit to the modern marshmallow factory «Jaco» in Novohrad-Volynskyi, which was built on the site of unfinished construction. Today, instead of an empty concrete box, there is a powerful confectionery business.
The garment factory«Lesya» is a modern production instead of an abandoned building, more than 98% of which is exported to 50 countries. The factory has 500 employees and produces about 1 million products per year.
The next object of the visit was a powerful grain drying complex in the urban-type settlement Brusyliv, which the owner created from unfinished buildings, privatized at auction. This modern complex is very important for the development of the region and the Brusyliv territorial community.
In the same settlementthere is a «Family Center», created on the site of an abandoned and overgrown with bushes building. The new center is aimed at supporting social projects. There will be a charity canteen, well-equipped classrooms, a gym for young people, and a day center for working with crisis families.
