For the first time in history, Ukraine puts up a seaport for privatization. When will the auction take place and what is the starting price
The State Property Fund has prepared the privatization of SE “Sea Trade Port of Ust-Dunaisk”. This will be the first sale of the seaport since the independence of Ukraine. The privatization auction will take place on January 17 at Prozorro.Sale. The starting price is UAH 60 million.
“Before the great war, almost everyone forgot about SE “Sea Trade Port of Ust-Dunaisk”. The main investments went to other seaports. But this year SE “Sea Trade Port of Ust-Dunaisk” began to play a crucial role in the world food security. He was one of the first to resume work after the start of a full-scale invasion of the russian army. It has great potential for the development of Ukrainian food exports. This requires investments that private business can bring,” Rustem Umerov, Chairman of the State Property Fund, commented.
After the outbreak of a major war, the port was blocked. However, on April 1, it resumed work. On that day, the first ship came out of there. Since then, the port has exported 153,000 tons of grain. In addition, it handles imported goods, for example: salt, rice. Since April 1, the port has imported 58,300 tons of consumer goods.
In January-September 2022, SE “Sea Trade Port of Ust-Dunaisk” received UAH 848,000 in net profit. In January-November, it paid more than UAH 9 million in taxes to budgets of all levels.
The port consists of three assets: the port itself,in Vylkove, Odesa region; the port point “Kiliia”, located in the city of the same name; and the service base of special vessels of lighter carriers on the island of Shabash. Directly loading and unloading operations are carried out in the port point of Kiliia, which is located on 54 km of the Danube River. Passport depths at the berth – 3 m, actual – 1.5 m.
