Privatization effect: new owners of assets have to pay 560 million hryvnias of debts to the budget and staff
The new owners of state-owned assets must pay 560.49 million (UAH) to the budget and staff. This is an additional result of the privatization resumption in September 2022.
The winners of privatization auctions, besides paying the winning amount, have to pay off the debts of the acquired companies to the budget and staff within six months.
"People are our top priority. Paying off the debts is an important step to ensure the protection of employees' rights and their well-being," reported Rustem Umerov, Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. "The Fund will continue to pay great attention to reducing wage arrears. Not only the social protection of employees, but also the development of the country's economy depends on this."
This is not the only example of the new Fund team's struggle to deal with the state assets debts. Recently, the Fund reported that over the past six months, 12 enterprises managed by the State Property Fund have fully paid off wage arrears to 6,157 employees totaling 62.7 million (UAH). Another 26 companies reduced it by 66 million (UAH).
