Port of Ust-Dunaisk expects a large-scale modernization - the Buyer of the Port on development plans after privatization

“Elixir Ukraine” is the first company in the history of Ukrainian to privatize the seaport. The Company has ambitious plans to modernize this enterprise in the near future. This was announced by Valerii Vikhrenko, shareholder of this Company, at the meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the SPFU Denys Shuhalii on 19 April.

“Elixir Ukraine” - the winner of the privatization auction for the sale of a single property complex of the Sea Trade Port of Ust-Dunaisk. The auction was hold on January 17, 2023. The Company paid UAH 201 million for the asset and UAH 40 million VAT. The starting price increased by 3.3 times.

“Attracting private investors to state assets is an important step for development of country and region. Samples like this help enhance the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy, create new jobs and increase state budget revenues,” said Denys Shuhalii, First Deputy Chairman of the SPFU.

Due to the fact that the Port does not have a railway connections, the Buyer has plans to actively increase transshipment volume. The key priority is to expand junctions and intersections. Besides, Elixir Ukraine plans to modernize warehouses and purchase overloading equipment, as well as create new jobs for technical specialists and professionals.

In the near future, the main cargoуs for transshipment will be grains and fertilizer, at the same time, the Buyer is studying the possibility of expanding the range of cargoes.

In the long term, Elixir Ukraine will make efforts to connect the Danube and Dnipro rivers by waterways in order to reduce the load on Ukrainian roads. In addition, the Company plans to build a grain elevator for 50 thousand tons.
