October will be the month of the Great Privatization!
The State Property Fund of Ukraine is preparing for one of the largest waves of sales of state-owned and sanctioned assets in recent years. In an in-depth interview with RBC-Ukraine, State Property Fund Chairman Dmytro Natalukha discussed which strategic enterprises will be put up for transparent auction and how we are bringing confiscated property back to life.
Key insights from the conversation:
Four major auctions coming up in October: we’re looking for new, efficient owners for the OPP, Sumykhimprom, Motordetal-Konotop, and the Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant.
Ocean Plaza: We’re preparing one of the country’s largest shopping malls for privatization by the end of the year, with a potential starting price of around $100 million.
Sanctioned assets: The sale of confiscated Russian property is expected to generate significant revenue for the budget, and a new management model is being developed for unsold assets.
Transparent privatization is not just about one-time revenue for the state budget. It means new jobs, the restart of production, tax revenue, and the development of the Ukrainian economy—even amid the war.
