International cooperation: Vitaliy Koval met with a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan

The SPFU's team and the top management of «Ukraagroleasing»  met with Daisuke Asano, a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.

The key topic of discussion was the possibilities of cooperation in the agricultural sector of Ukraine.

The parties discussed models of cooperation between Ukrainian and Japanese farmers. We also talked about the use of their equipment in our agriculture, which we discussed with representatives of the Ministry in Tokyo. The need for mechanized machinery is very high among Ukrainian farmers.

The Chairman of the SPFU informed about the benefits of cooperation between public and private agroleasing companies. In turn, he presented the National Joint Stock Company «Ukraagroleasing», which could become a partner for the Ukrainian and Japanese governments.

“Joint Stock Company «Ukraagroleasing»started its work in 2001. Its advantages are servicing small and medium-sized agribusinesses rather than large holdings. In this direction, they are the first among other similar companies,” said Vitaliy Koval, Chairman of the SPFU.

The Chairman of the SPFU also noted: «Another advantage of «Ukraagroleasing»  is its participation in the state program «Affordable Loans 5-7-9%». Therefore, I am convinced that «Ukraagroleasing»will help to establish cooperation between Japanese and Ukrainian enterprises».

For instance, the State Property Fund is working on launching the Land Bank project, which will open up new opportunities for agribusiness. Therefore, it is essential for us to attract Japanese investors to the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
